3. How we use your data

We use your data to save and sync your journal entries, mood logs, and reflections across your devices, deliver your letter to future self on the date you choose, show you your mood history and insights within the app, and send you optional daily notifications if you allow them.

We do not sell your data, share your journal content with third parties, use your entries to train AI models, or show you ads.

4. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore database and Firebase Storage), hosted on Google's servers. Firebase is GDPR-compliant and uses industry-standard encryption. Photos and voice notes are stored in Firebase Storage, accessible only to your account.

5. Who can see your data

Only you. Your journal entries, mood logs, reflections, and voice notes are private by default and protected by your account login and your personal PIN. We — the app creators — do not read your entries. The only exception would be if we were legally required to disclose information by a court order, which we would only do if compelled by law.

6. Mental health data

If you are in crisis, please reach out to a mental health professional or crisis line. Elora is a journaling tool, not a substitute for professional support.

7. Children and teens

Elora is designed to be a safe space for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at support@elora-app.com and we will delete the account promptly.
